One of Twitch‘s most popular couples — xQc and Adeptthebest — have split up following a series of altercations that unfolded live on stream. The streams had been together since roughly 2018 and had recently collaborated on widely popular Grand Theft Auto 5 roleplaying streams. Despite their once-power couple status, the streamers announced that they had called it quits on August 7.
xQc revealed that Adept had moved out of their home during an Apex Legends stream on August 6. He didn’t specify exactly what happened between them but after his chat inquired what happened between them, xQc admitted that they had gotten into a seemingly serious argument.
“Sammy left,” he read from the chat. “Listen, I don’t want to talk about it that much, man. Me and Sammy got into a little bit of a fight. It is what it is.”
Following xQc’s stream, Adept posted a cryptic tweet suggesting that she and xQc might have split up. Both of them shed light on the situation on August 7, when they each tweeted that their relationship had officially ended. At first, the streamers wanted to keep the matter private but rumors that xQc had been abusive began to spread. They shut down those claims in separate tweets and revealed that they mutually ended their relationship.
xQc was the first to open up about the situation in the early hours of August 7.
Adept posted a response to her initially cryptic message hours after xQc’s announcement. This time she directly addressed their breakup and denied the rumors that xQc had been physically abusive.
The tail end of the streamers’ relationship had been rocky. They got into arguments over GTA 5 roleplaying and some of them were captured live on stream. Leading up to the breakup, Adept frustratedly ended her stream early after an off-camera dispute with xQc. Regardless of their relationship status, xQc and Adept will continue streaming and they’ve asked their viewers to be respectful of their privacy.
